Emelia Patterson Blog Post 2

So far at Mizzou, the resources I've noticed have been the student success center and the many different organizations and clubs that cater to basically ever interest and major. Getting involved in anything like that would look great on a resume, showing involvement and initiative to become successful.
On my resume, I would include activities from high school such as being involved in the National Honors Society, being a captain of the varsity cheerleading squad, working as an editor on the school newspaper, and working with special needs cheerleaders. These activities would demonstrate leadership, service, and dedication and be an advantage to have on my resume.
At Mizzou now, I'm currently involved with a sorority, so putting that on my resume along with philanthropy related activities (which will happen later in the year) will not only be beneficial to networking but also show that I was involved with my school.
As of right now, being in a sorority is taking up a lot of time and energy, so I'm not looking to be involved in anything else at the moment. However, eventually I want to become involved at KOMU and work at the NBC network affiliate to gain experience and training in the field of broadcast journalism.
