I participated in a few activities in high school, which I would be sure to include in my resume. I was a reporter for my high school’s weekly TV news station, Greyhound News Network (GNN), my junior year. Senior year I had the opportunity to be the executive producer of GNN. I reported, anchored, edited and produced a 10-minute weekly news show. I gained experience being a leader, as well as journalism experience, which helped me to decide to major in journalism in college. I was also on the Big Sister/Little Sister planning committee, which assigned senior girls to be “big sisters” to incoming freshman girls and organized events for them to partake in to help the freshmen have an easier transition to high school. I participated in Jewish Student Union (JSU) throughout high school. I also played tennis for my high school freshman through senior year, and soccer freshman year. In addition, I was a member of my high school’s community service club and green club in which I participated in numerous activities with through out my four years.
I joined Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Missouri, which has helped me to become more involved. Through Alpha Phi I am required to volunteer for different organizations and philanthropies, which I will participate in throughout my four years here. I have not had the opportunity to join other organizations yet, but there are some that I have seen that I am interested in. I want to get involved with the Hillel and Jewish Student Organization on campus this year. At Summer Welcome I was exposed to a variety of different activities and organizations, which interested me. I hope to later become involved with KOMU.
